Per Press Association. Dunedin, February IS. Latest reports to hand from the scene of the wreck of tho Marguerite Mirahend tato that there is a heavy sea breaking right over tho vessel. Her mainmast has snapped oft about 15 feet from tho deck, and the rolling of the vessel in the seaway has embedded her more firmly in her present position. Thoro is no visible sign of damage to her hull but it is believed her hull is damaged. Tho captain, Georges Tatterin, is still standing by tho wreck, but beyond stating that he sighted the Snares before coming to grief, ho declined to mako any statement as to how he got out of his course. His not being able to speak English has apparently led to some confusion, Captain Tattorin having stated that the present is fourth vessel ho. has commanded, tho present being his first mishap of a serious nature. There has been no one on board to-day and it is feared tho vessel will become a total wreck.
