At the Supreme Court to-day Maritana Emmanuel was sentenced to fourteen days.’ imprisonment fur making a false declaration when registering the bivpli o£ a child. A young man named William Portelli admitted the charge of defiling a girl under 10, and was admitted to two years’ probation, tbo judge slating that there were special reasons for " that lenient course being followed. A young man named John Llewellyn Down was acquitted of a charge of committing an unnatural offence, Cmusrcuuncii, February ] g, At the Supreme Court to-day William Zimmerman, charged with unlawful carnal knowledge, pleaded that ho was about to marry die girl and sentence was deferred. William Thomas Felton, charged with the manslaughter of George Tailored De Montalk, by the negligent driving of a motor oar by which a collision, occurred with, a nigiitsoil cart ou JBccsvrton-roaii and De Monhulc w&T killed. A party of young men had gone out at night for a drive and laid drinks at public houses or. the way, and coming honid the collision occurred. The ease is proceeding.
