It is stated on the authority of missionaries in fhe Pacific Islands that Britain and Prance' have completed negotiations whereby Prance ' cedes Tahiti to Britain in consideration for certain territorial concessions in Burmah or Further India. Mr Donkin states that he has received no communication in reference to the matter. London, January 7. The alleged cession of Tahiti is officially contradicted.
