PUKEKOHE MUNICIPAL BRASS BAND.
A NEW ORGANISATION. AN ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING. A well- attended meeting of players and others favourable to the formation of a Franklin Brass Band was held in the V"Times" Office on Tuesday night, the convenor, Mr. W. H. Taylor, being voted to the chair. Mr. V. S. Roberts was appointed secretary. _ The chairman detailed the number of instruments available, which made a fairlySgood contribution. Mr. GeO. Armstrong moved and Mr F. Richards seconded a motion, "That a Pukekohe Municipal Brass Band be formed." —Carried unanimously. The following committee was appointed: Messrs. W. H. Taylor, G. tlejohn, D. Blake. The chairman explained how in Waiukit all the business people and outside traders and professionals doing business in the town agreed to contribute 6d per week towards the upkeep of the band, and he thought that if Waiuku could do this Pukekohe would be quite as generous. Tljis suggestion was approved of.
The ; qiatter of appointing a conductor was held in abeyance, to be settled by a full meeting of the band.
