FRANKLIN A. AND P. SOCIETY.
COMMITTEE MEETING. lA meeting of the executive of the Franklin A. and P. Society was held in the Society's office, Manukau Koad. on Friday, October 27, 1920. A letter was received from St. Andrew's Flower Show Committee asking tfiat permission be gran red to hold their flower show in the winter show shed. Permission was -ranted subject to a charge of £5. The sub-committees set up to revise horse and cattle sections of the schedule- presented their report, and this was adopted. A sub-committee was set up to go into the mattei of printing.
The secretary was instructed to call a meeting of the sub-committee set up to.canvass for new members. A discussion took place as to canvassing for special prizes. Members were unanimous that an effort should be made to get farmers to subscribe to the prize fund. The secretary was instructed to write to the general committee to this effect, and ask each member to be responsible for collecting £5 to the prize fund. The. secretary was instructed to wire the Minister of Railways about the subway, such wire to be signed by the Mayor and the president. A deputation was also appointed to wait on the District Engineer, Auckland, and request him to continence the subway as Aioon as possible.
Twenty new members were elected This concluded the business of tin evening.'
