LECTURE TO WOIBEN.

A meeting of ladies called at the invitation of the District Health Officer, Auckland, was held in the Borough Council Chambers w Wednesday. , , , Mrs F. McHugh, who has been appointed by the Health Department to confer with the women of the North Island on matters pertaining to national health, addressed the meeting. Owing to the short notice and early hour there was only a bi i.ill though representative number present. , ~ Mrs. McHugh's lengthy address on social hygiene was listened to with marked attention. At the close of the address a vote of thanks and hearty sympathy with the movement was unanimously carried, those present promising to use their influence to interest others, and thus ensure a larger gathering on Mrs. McHugh's return visit.
