BEAUTIFY THE TOWN

SOCIETY REQUIRED

Mr. F. Perkins advocated, at the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce meeting last night, that an effort should he made to beautify the town. The secretary stated that the local musical society's concert provided about V.14 for such purposes. The desirability of creating an ar listic frontage to the new technical high school site was advanced by Mr. Perkins. The property would lend itself admirably to beautification.

Appreciation of the local patriotism of the Methodist Choir was given general expression to. Mr. A. Gill thought it would be a disgrace to Pukekohe if Roose's bush were destroyed.

The president said that the .residents of Prospect Terrace were endeavouring to have trees planted along one side of that road, and this work would he put in hand at once if the one owner who had not yet given his decision was favourably disposed towards the project.
