PROPOSED RAILWAY
MANUREWA-HUNUA-MAUNGA
TAWHIRI-PAEROA
At a meeting of ratepayers held in Hunau it was decided to abolish the Settlors' Association and Railway League, and to form one body to work in th? interests of Hunua! Paparimu and Moumoukai.
It. was resolved to ask the organiser of the Farmers' Union to address the settlers at a future date with a view to forming into a branch of the Farmers' Union
At the meeting it was decided to urge on tha Minister of Public Works that the promise given hy Hon. W. F. Massey (Prime Minister) to have a survey made of the proposed rail way rout "
from Mitungatnwhii'i to SianuiTwa through Huniia and Clevedon should he i-arricd out as soon as possible.
It was decided to communicate with the Manukau County Council, who were also urging for a survey of this route, and to give the council any assistance possible to have the survey made. MAIL SERVICE.
It was decided to move in the matter of an improved mail service foi Hunua, Paparimu and Moumoukai iind to draw up a petition to the Chief Postmaster asking that the present tri weekly service should be increased to a daily service from Papakura. to Hunua, with a rural delivery twice weekly from Hunua to Paparimu r.nd Moumoukai. A deputation consisting of Messrs. Heald (Hunua). E. C. Beale (Paparimu) and Milne (Moumoukai) were appointed to wait on the Chief Postmaster with the petition when signed. The same gentlemen were also deputed to wait on the auctioneering firms with a view to having periodical stock sales hold in Hunua,
