A conleitnce was neld by ratepayers with the board's solicitor on Friday, and it was decided to withdraw the plant from sale in the meantime. A special meeting of ratepayers is to be held shortly ftt Mercer with a view to adjusting the financial problems that confront the board. It has been decided that any members who have not attended the meetings regularly are to forfeit their seats and new members will be elected in their places, so that the board can be placed on a proper footing.
