FOOTBALL REFEREES' ASSOCIATION
FORMED IN FRANKLIN.
The advisability of fomning a Referees' Association in Franklin was advocated by Mr. C. Molloy, Waiuku, at the annual meeting of the Franklin Rugby Union-on Tuesday night. On his motion, sespnded by Mr. W. Taylor (Tuakau), it was decided to form an association in Franklin. Each club is to subiiv't names of three referees. Considerable discussion ensued in connexion with club's applying to the Auckland Referees' Ascociation for referees to control matches. Eventually Mr. J. Beatty (Pukekohe) moved that in the event of a club desiring an Auckland neferee, application be made to the Franklin Referees' Association recommending the association to apply to Auckland for a referee for the match.
The whole matter was left entirely in the hands of the association.
Mr. C. F. Shepherd (Patumahoe) seconded the motion, which was carried. An effort is to be made to have members of the association examined by a capable memb"er of "the Auckland Referees' Association.
