OBSEQUIES

MR. VINCENT PAPESCH

The funeral of the late Mr. Vincent Papesch. who for the past eighteen years had been associate! with the' Pukekohe branch of th ■ New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, took place at Pukekohe on Thursday afternoon. There was a large and representative attendance from all parts of the district, and from the kindred associations which had been brought into business contact with the deceased. Some 200 mourners followed the remains to the graveside, amongst whom were Messrs J. Douglas, W. Douglas. A. Douglas and \V. Dickie (pall bearens), Messrs 11., K. and A. Papesch (sons of the deceased), J. Papesch (Pirongia, brother), Messrs W. J. Belt (Hawera), H. L. Bell (Auckland) and E. Bell (Hawera), relatives; Messrs H. 0. Nolan (Manager), J. Hardwick, P. Atkinson. J. Douglas. J. Ritchie (Papakura), F. Brown (Waiuku), Griffin (Onewhero). L. Short (Pukekohe) representing New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company; Mr T. Flavell (Pukekohe), representing A. Buckland and Sons, Mr. J. Baxter (Waikato A. and P. Society, Hamilton), Mr. D. R. Hamilton (Franklin A. and P. Society, Fukekohe), Messrs Claude Motion, Ivan Motion. J. Patterson. A. P. Davsh, J. Roulston. R. Fulton (Puni)", D. A. Blake. J. Kennelly, Roose. Geo. Ingram, and many others.

The floral tributes, many of which were very beautiful, were received from New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company Limited, fellow workers of New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company Limited, Mr and Mrs H. 0. Nolan, Mr and Mrs J. M. Baxter, Pukekohe School, Alfred Buckland and Sons, neighbours and friends (Prospect Terrace), teacheis (Prospect Terrace), Geo. Ingram and some 20 others.

The interment took place in the Presbyterian section of the Pukekohe Public Cemetery, the officiating clergyman being the Rev S. Nixon. The mortuary seivices were conducted by Messrs Blake Bros.
