TUAKAU. Owing to the Easter holidays, the next meeting of the Tuakau* Town Board will be held on Tuesday, April f». ONEWHERO. VALEDICTORY. On Friday night last a number of the residents of Onewhero invaded Mr. W. Webster's house in "a surprise party to give him and Mrs. Webster a farewell on the eve of their departure for Ongarue. Mr. Webster, who has been very popular while engaged here as assistant in the local store, has been appointed to the charge of the Farmers' Trading Co's store at Ongarue. Both Mr and Mrs. Webster have been a great acquisition socially, especially among the younger people; but young" and old were represented at Friday night's function, and were equally unanimous in their expressions of regret at the approaching departure, and of good wishes for the future of the departing family.

Mr. H. McFadden, of Waiuku, has just completed nis contract of carting metal for Hamilton's deviation, and there is now a good metalled road in the Wairaniarama, to a point some seven miles beyond the Opouatia. He has also carted a quantity for some greatly needed improvements in the Kaipo Flat Road. Mr. W. Keyes last week sold his farm at a satisfactory price to Mr. Cronin, at present of Pukekohe, but it is just a question if the buyer, at the present prices of land, has not the better of the deal. The Farmers' Trading Co. is at present in treaty with Mr. E. J. Green fo his general store business in Onewhero. If they take it over it is understood they will not engage in the carrying part of the business. PAPAKURA. Farms and building sites are rapidly changing hands. During the last few weeks several important changes have been recorded. Mr. Pascoe, of the Park Estate, has disposed to Mr. Walton, of Auckland. Mrs. Poles house has been acquired by Mr. Jenaid, of Papakura. The place is situated on Clevedon Road. Mr. Hatworth, of Clevedon Road, has sold to Mr. Geo. Vince, of Papakura. Mr Close has sold his section on Clevedon Road to Mr. Grant, of Settlement Rood. The whole of the above were made thorugh Mr. L. J. Mills, the local agent. We have been informed that tne drainage from the casein factory is not vet satisfactory. This matter bar. beep under consideration by the Town BfrarJ for many months past.
