HON SIR WM. FRASER
SERVSCES APPRECIATED.
BY COUNTY COUNCIL
The following letter of apprechlion was sent to the late Minister for Public Works (Hon. Sir Wm. Fraser) by the chairman of the Franklin County Council, Cr. W. Claud Motion:—
I desire, on the occasion of your retirement from the office of Minister for Public Works, to write and express on my own behalf, and on behalf of the councillors and ratepayers of Franklin County, our appreciation of, and grateful thanks for, the great assistance you have rendered the county throughout the whole of your term of office in connection with the provision of grants and subsidies for road works from the Fnl.lie Works Fund. It has always been the aim of the council to limit its requests for Government grants and subsidies to urgent and necessary works, and looking back over my terms .of ollice as county chairman, I cannot call to mind an instance where you have failed to accede to the council's requests for assistance towards providing moneys for road works necessary to the development and progress of our county, especially the backblocks portions of same. I trust you may be long spared to enjoy your wellearned retirement from Ministe ial ollice, and that this Dominion may have the advantage of your talents in the Legislative Council far many years to come.
The Minister rcnlied chunking the council for letter of thiinks. Received.
