Mauku v. Buckland.
The Mauku Tennis Clab played their second match of the season on Saturday, the 17th. The local bus conveyed the visitors over to Buckland, where a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. Mr Btll Nftuku's eldest player, in a few able remarks, thanked the home team for their hospitality, and invited ihem to thoir courts on FobrudTy 7 hj, which date has been fixed. Ee then called for three t hpers. Buckland responded heartily Mauku won the match by 20 games, the totals being Mauku 117, Buckland 97. Gents' Singles.-Perry beat H Leighton, 7—4; E. Gillon lost to W Bilkey, 5—7 ; N. Gillon lost to L. Bilkey, 6—7; Ward lost to F. Wilson, 5-7 ; Bell beat W. Leighton, 7-4 ; Bennett beat Wilkinson, 7-6.
Ladies' Singles.—Mrs Zinzan lost to Miss Allan. 3-7 ; Miss Gillon beat Mrs Green way, s—l. Gents' Doubles- Perry and Gillon beat Leighton and Bilkey, 7-4; Ward and Gillon beat L. Bilkey and Wilson, 7-3. Ladies' Doubles.—Mrs Zinzan and Miss Wright lost to Miss Allan and Miss Shaw, 5—7 ; Miss Runciman and Miss Gillon beat Miss Home and Mrs Greenway, 7—6; Miss Moor and Miss Bell beat Miss Webb and Miss Pulman, 7—2. Combined Doubles.—Perry and Mrs Zinzan beat Miss Allan and Leighton, 7—6; Miss Wright and Gillon lost to Miss Shaw and Bilkey, 5—7; Miss Runciman and Gillon lost to Miss Home and Bilkey, 6 7; Miss Gillon and Ward beat Mrs Greenway and Wilson, 7—6 ; Miss Moor and Bell beat Miss Webb and Leighton, 7—4 ; Miss Bell and Bennett beat Miss Pulman and Wilkinson, 7—2. The return match will be flayed on the Mauku courts on Saturday, February 7th.
