The following is additional to the report published on Friday ? M AUNG ATA WnißT Mr M. J. Friedlander complained of a defective fence running from Enoch Hill towards the Maramarua Road. He wanted permission to repair and charge cost of labour and ma'enal to the Council The clerk was instructed to reply that the deviation along which the fence ran was taken by the Public Works Department, in connexion with the roading of the Hahura block, Crown lands. The fence was •rected by the Public Works, the Council having nothing to do with it

ENGINEER'S REPORT. (Continued fnm page 4, of to-day's issue\ Papakura to Pukekohe East Road. —Portions of the Great South Road between these points should be treated in a similar manner to the portion of road already referred to between Pokeno and Razorback. Fine material could shortly be obtained by rail for blinding tho old metal where scarified. The side roads also require to be reformed and improved. I would ask your Council's permission to proceed with these necessary improvements when the plants are available to undertake the work.—Agreed to.
