CLEVEDON.

OLEVEDON A. & P. ASSOCIA TION.

At the last meeting of the Executive Committee, held a few days agi>, the question of whether the nexc annual show should be a spring show or au autumn show was one ui the matters under discussion. Pri >i to the last show, the fixture hna always been a spring event, an 1 although on one or two occasions, the advisability of making it a i autumn show has been put forward, it has up to now always ended in keeping to the spring, chiefly on the principle of " letting well alone," the previous shows having always bee< a success, apart from mostly striking ra'>re or less unfavourable weather

As will be remembered, the last show had to bo postponed until the autumn owing to the epidemic, but it proved such a great success both financially and otherwise, that ic has again raised the question of au autumn show in olace of the spring. Th* cm f mjver in the matter poiut.'d out that if the last show proved so satisfactory under sued adverse conditions, viz. : Postpone-,

raent, war conditions, epidemic conetc., with all the trouble! of shortage of labour, higher expenses, want of public enthusiasm in many cases -through family losses and the effects of the general state of things -he considered it was the correct ihing to place the mttter before the members of the Association and therefore he moved that " the question of the annual show being made an autumn event in future be placed on the agenda paper when sending out the notices for the annual meeting," and this was agreed to unanimously. It now lies with the members themselves to say at the annual meeting, which is to be hold on Saturday July 19th, as to which season of the year they will choose, and when the difference in the climatic conditions alone are considered, it is felt that the autumn show will carry the day.
