The rainfall for the first six months of the current year was only 13.50 inches, the lowest for the corresponding period in any year since observations were first taken herein 1911. The total was made up as follows : January 242 inches, 13 days ; February 1.55 inches, 6 days ; March 2.25, inches, 10 days ; April .90 inches, 11 days; May, 3 73 inch.s, 13 days, June 2 65 inches, 20 dajs. The average for the first six months during the previous eight years wis 23 31 inches, the highest 35 85 inches in the record wot year 1917, and the lowest 14 61 inches in 1913.
