CLEVEDON.

An enthusiastic public welcome was accorded to Lieutenant-Colonel A. G. McKenzie, D.S.O. at Clevodon last Friday evening. The gallant officer gave a brief address concerning his experiences since leaving Clevedon. Colonel McKenzie was born in the district, and took part in volunteer and territorial work until placed on the staff for active service. Mr H G Browne, of Clevedon, has been notified that his son, 2ndLieutenant L H. Browne, has been awarded the Military Cross for gallantry in the held. Sergeant Looker and Frivate Smith, also of Clevedon have won the Military Medal. This record in a small district is distinctly creditable to the young manhood of Clevedon.
