PAPAKURA.
The details published in our last issue of the revised arrangements for the control of matters connected with the epidemic at Papakura made it appear, according to a statement issued by Mr W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, that Mr D. W. Jones has been appointed to take charge with Mr W. E Webb and the Town Clerk (Mr Harold Wilson) as his assistants. The name of Mr Webb was, however, included in error as he is not concerned in anyway with the new arrangements, Mr Wilson being Mr Jones' only assistant and being appointed to act as house steward of the hospital. The " outside " hospital organisation is now conducted from the Town Board office where both Mr Jones and Mr Wilson are daily on duty. Four new cases were ad mi' ted to the Papakura temporary hospital yesterday, all four boing ladies, two of whom had been acting as volunteer nurses at the hospi f al. A third case was that of a local professional nurse, whilst the fourth came from Olevedon. This morning there wore 34 patients under treatment at the hospital, all of whom were reported to be doing well. Sinoere sympathy by their many friends is extended to Mr and Mrs E. S. Cole in the bereavement they have sustained in the death of their 14-year-old daughter, Rhoda Frances, who passed away on Sunday last at the Papakura temporary hospital from influenza complications. The deceased was a bright and amiabl« child, and her early decease is much regretted. It is a sign that things are fast re turning to normal in Papakura by the fact that the ordinary monthly meeting of the Town Board has been convened for Monday next.
