OTAHUHU.
In consequence of the influenza epidemic the bazaar and sale of work arranged for the 15th and 16th inst. in aid of the local Anglican Church funds has been postponed. A report of the case heard at the Otahuhu Magistrate Court yesterday concerning alleged disloyal utterances by a visitor to Otahuhu will appear in our next issue. The Otahuhu Methodist Church was well filled on Sunday last for the Sunday School anniversary services. The Rev J. F. Martin of Fukekohe preached in the morning while in the evening Mr F. Souster occupied the pulpit. The singing of the children and choir was an outstanding feature, and reflected great credit on the conductor, Mr A. Trenwith. The annual prize giving ceremony in connection with the Sunday School will take place at the Methodist Church on Thursday evening next.
As the result of complaints made by the Otahuhu Borough Council as to the public danger that existed in cyclists and drivers of vehicles travelling without proper headlights at night-time attached to their machines or vehicles the Otahuhu police got busy and eleven offenders yesterday had to appear in the Otahuhu Magistrate's Court. The police made no distinction in their captures as the defendants included a lady, a reverend gentleman, and some leading traders. In eaoh instance a fine of 5s with 7s Court costs was imposed.
