PATUMAHOE.
The committee of the Mauku Bed Cross League are again at work and a grand concert has been arranged for Friday of next week. A splendid programme is assurred, talented artists such as " Pom " Watson and " Jock " Pirrit having promised to assis-t. Major Aldred will give a short address on mounted work in Egypt. The art union, prizes for which include a piano, milking machine and a Christmas cake, wil; bo drawn at 9 o'clock the same evening. A few 2s (3d tickets are still available and enrly application should be made by any wishing to help the cause and to try their luck. The admission to the- concert is oniy Is so it is expected that afuither pro »f of the inadequacy of the hull aoc mrucdation will be shown. Xh>nef. pn.ceeds of the concert will be given to the Women's Patriotic League in order to assist their funds.
