PAPATOETOE BOWLING CLUB Playing for the Clark trophies the holders (Wills and Coles) 17 lost to challengers (Daisley and Knight) 30.

A friendly match was played on Saturday last between Papatoetoe and a team from Devonport, Papatoetoe winning by 22 points to 15. The finals in the section play for the Championship Cup. were concluded on Friday last when the following players were left in the semi finals, viz, Andrew, Kawnsley, Watson and Coles. The semi-finals will be played during this week. The Howick Club will visit Papatoetoe on St. Patrick's Day when an all-day tournament will be played.

A most enjoyable social gathering was held in St. George's Hall on Friday evening last when the members of the Anglican Choir entertained their Mends The choir has made good progress during the past six months under the baton of Mr Jeans and the singing is much appreciated by the congregation. During the evening items were rendered by Misses Waddell and Daisley (vocal duets) ; Miss H. Albury, Mrs A. Waddell (pianoforte solos), Misses Beany and Daisley and Messrs Seel, Jeans, and Gutforth (songs), And Mr Spencer I humourous reading). Mrs Burnside, Miss Cutforth and Mrs Jeans were accompanists.
