EAST TAMAKI.
The East Taoiaki school picnic was held in Mr T. Ellison's paddock on Friday last under perfect weather conditions and attracted quite a large gathering. A very good variety of sports and games were indulged in and altogether a very pleasant day was spent. Great praise is due to the teachers, Mr Allan and Miss Moore, for their very capable management of the children. Keen interest was taken in the sports and games. The catering was provided by Mr W. Gardiner, of Otahuhu, and at the conclusion of the picnic a vote of thanks to the ladies for their very able management was carried with cheers. The East Tamaki Tennis Club are holding a social next Friday evening, March 15th, in the East Tamaki Hall, to raise funds to go towards the cost of additional courts At present there are only two courts and there are now about 45 members, so the Club proposes to put down at least two more courts.
