MANGERE ROAD BOARD TheMaogere Road Board held its ' monthly meeting in the Mangere i Public Hall on Munday evening last. Present: Mr M. B. Kirkbride * Chairman), Messrs S. W. House, C. k. Goosman, W. W. Massey and L James Montgomerie, with the Clerk (Mr Edgar Ashcroft) It was resolved that notije be 'given to the owners of the land adjacent to the short length of road leading to Mr A. Taylor's property 1 that the Board intended removing the gate at the expirey of three months' time. The Board discussed the advis--1 ability of revising the charges made for rent of reserves and gate licenses j ia the district and the Clerk was inj strutted to furnish a report at the i next meeting. | The Clerk was also instructed to ! write to Mr G. T. Niccol, contractor | for the Mangere bridge, asking if he j was now prepared to fulfil his agreement to raise the sunken por- ! tion of the bridge and to effect j sundry repairs and also to enquire | from the auditor as to utilising : the balance of loan money standing j to the credit of the Board in the Bridge account. I It was decided that a post and ! wire fence should be erected on the j (feep portion of the ditch on Station i road to prevent cattle from falling 1 therein. It was resolved that a- letter be i sent to the Prime Minister explaining the difficulties that had arisen in regard to the contribution of £3OO promised by the Onehunga Borough Council towards the cost of the Mangere bridge approaches and asking for his assistance in getting ' the matter settled.
