WATER SUPPLY SCHEME f The matter of the proposal to i establish a water supply scheme for s Papakura again cropped up at the meeting of the Town Board last P Monday, a suggestion having previously been made that a source of supply could be secured atllunua : and that such water power could bo . utilised for installing electric light. Mr Holt believed that a suitable darn could be made at Symond's stream at Opaheke and he was of » opinion that there was sufficient r water there to supply Papakura. 1 Mr Markwick thought that an e unlimited supply of water could be t : secured nelr Settlement road. 1 1; Mr Linstrom said he was more in ] favour of a water supply now than 1 \ some time ago in view of the possi-'s bilities of the extension of the bound- • i anes of their area. - MERCER A FARMING DISPUTE A dispute which occupied the Auckland Magistrate's Court for six days at the beginning of December last, was settled last Tuesday when Mr E C. Cutten, S.M., delivered judgment A the case in which C. N. . Mardon (Mr Dickson), farmer, of Auckland, claimed from C. J. Drake (Mr Gould), farmer, of Whangamarino, £32 for a separator, £l3 2s 9d for benzine supplied, £2 103' for the use of a stove, and los for a keg of nails Judgment was given for plaintiff for £l•'> 4s '.Hi, £l4 being allowed for the separator, and £i 4s 9d for ben/ine, this being the value : of the quantity admittedly received by defendant. Judgment for £2l was also given for plaintiff on a s further 'laim of £42 for the hire of 14 cows. Defendant counter-claim-ed for £lB os, being value of four 3 tuns of slag and freight on same, and for £7 Ss for carting done for plainI tiff. Judgment on the counterclaim was given for defendant for | £IH lis the sum of £l2 los being allowed for the slag
