Mr J. Jones, auctioneer, Victoria and Lome streets, Auckland, reports The market this week has not been brisk. New potatoes have eased slightly and poultry have kept at about last week's quotations. Butter and eggs are much firmer. Fruit of all descriptions is firm and wanted. Small pigs are lower in value. We quote: Poultry: (1650 penned) hens extra prime heavy 3/8 to 4s Gd, good heavy 3s 3d to 3s Bd, good 3s to 3s sd, lighter breeds 2s 4d to 2s Bd, ducks young 3s to 4s, old ducks 2s 3d to 2s 9d, roosters heavy up to 5s 6d, good 4s 6d to 4s 9d, small 2s 3d to 3s 4d, turkey gobblers 9s to 12s 6d, hens 4s 9d to 8s 4d, pigs 12s 6d to £1 9s 6d. Farm produce: Canterbury potatoes £6 to £6 10s, new potatoes prime 2d to 2Ad, good lid to lj-d, small id to |d, kumeraslls 6d, cabbages 3s to 4s Bd. Dairy produce: Butter bulk Is 2d to Is 3d, eggs la 3d to Is 4d, bacon sides lid to llfd, hams Is to Is Id, honey bulk 4£d. Fruit: Apples 18s 6d, lemons 8s to 10s, gooseberries 6s 6d to 7s 9d, passion fruit 8s to 12s 6d. Grain : Maize 5s 9d, wheat 7s 9d, oats ss, barley ss, chaff £8 10s to £lO 10s.
