PAPAKURA.
There was a good attendance at the Anniversary Services held in the Methodist Sunday school hall on Wednesday last, the Pastor (the Rev Jones) being in the chair. An excellent address was delivered by the Rjv Garland and the Misses Hyde and M. Hutchinson and Mr T. C. Seaton contributed songs, while Messrs T. J. Corin and H. V. Barton gave elocutionary items, all of which were highly appreciated. During the evening Mrs Seaton read a report of the Ladies' Guild and Mr S. Evans presented the report of the Trust. Tea was served by the ladies of the church and altogether a most successful evening was held. To-morrow (Wednesday) a special effort is being made by the Public School on behalf of the Red Cross fund.
The Literarv and Debating Society meet next Thursday evening when the subject to be discussed is likely t) attract a large number.
