PUKEKOHE BOWLING CLUB

The Season Opened Ideal weather attended the opening of the Pukekohe Bowline; Club's season on Saturday last. The company present numbered about 200 and with flags gaily flying the singing of the National Anthem proved that loyalty was not lacking in the proceedings while the uniform of the khaki "boys" on leave and the presence of returned soldiers reminded one of the war. Referring to Pukekohe, Mr Perkins spoke with pride of its progress, saying that it had changed from a mere village to a fair sized town and from mud to good roaas. He also reforred to the latest step in progress, viz., the electric light, which the town now possessed. As to their club, that was stronger than ever and he hoped that as the result of that day's gathering new members would come forward. The company were then photographed by Mr Keith, snr., after which Airs Prank Perkins threw the "kitty" and play commenced. During the afternoon an orchestra composed of the following members rendered selections of music which were much appreciated, viz., Misses Kodgors and Hewlett, Mrs G. H. Armstrong, and Mr 0.
