BUCKLAND.
Th annual re-union of the Buckland Old Girls' Association was held in the Hall on September 2(ith. The proceeds were in aid of the fund being promoted for the Roll of Honour to " the boys " of the district on active service. There was a large attendance and an excellent programme was rendered. The President (Mrs H. H. D. Wily), in a short address, explained the objects of the concert and thanked those friends from Pukekohe, who kindly assisted with the programme. The following items were contributed : Pianoforte trio by Misses Home and Allan, songs by Misses Davy, Edna Wright, Messrs L. Wilson, A. Young, Wrs Ward. Choruses by members, recitations by Misses D. Avery, G. Neal, J. Ferguson and E Haire. Dialogue by members and Highland fling by Miss G. Leighton. After supper was handed round dancing was indulged ia until the early hours of the morning. A meeting of the Second Division League Committee was held in the Hall on Saturday, 21st inst, a full attendance of members being present. A largo amount of routine business was dealt with connected with the inauguration of the Branch, and various matters which had caused some misunderstanding wore fully explained to the satisfaction of the the committee. A sub-committee was appointed to arrange for a social as a means of placing the aims of the League more fully before the public It was also decided to forward a resolution to the Auckland centre re the inconvenience caused in many cases by the drilling of territorials when labour is so scarce.
