[The Tuakau Supply Store, Ltd., are now the local agents for the "Times" and copies of the paper are obtainable at their premises. ] The balance-sheet of the Tuakau Town Board, for the year ending March 31st last, showed receipts amounting to £846 5s Id, including rates collected £SBB 5s 3d Government subsidy £4O 19s 4d, refunds building permitetc., £l3B 12s 4d. The expenditure, the principal items of which were £597 8s 9d for roads and £157 17s for legal expenses totalled £1127 13s 4d. With a debit balance as on M arch 31st, 1916, brought forward of £54 12s 6d the debit balance stood at March 31st last at £336 0s 9d Against this the Board has, at the quarry, spawls valued at over £SOO aud other assess valued at £sl. When the advance of £2OOO is secured on account of the loan a considerable amount will be transferred trom General to Loan Account. The amount of rates out standing is only £2 19s. A contract for a further supply of 2000 yards of spawls is well forward and a contract for crushing the spawls rn h ind is let and will be commenced as soon as possible.
