The following resolution was proposed by the president and carried unanimously, viz., That this meeting of the Farmers' Union takes strong exception to the coal miners or any other setftion of the community attempting to coerce the Government, and that they will assist the Government in the present crisis to the best of their ability. The president reported that he had interviewed Mr. C. J. Parr, C.M.G., M.P., and he had agreed to come to Tuakau on Friday. May 4th, to civ? r. lecture on "The Great War," under the auspices of the Farmers' Union, the proceeds to be donated to the local Patriotic League. As this is a most interesting address by one who has had every facility for viewing the great military and naval operations obtaining at the Front, a full house is anticipated.
