Mr B. H. Aspdeo, of Pukekohe, volunteered in Auckland on Tuesday and was accepted for active service as a member of the Field Engineers. A report of the social given in the Premier Hall. Shipherd, who is entering camp next wee*, is owing to pressure of space held over until our next issue. In accordance with the list of holidays agreed upon at a conference of Pukekohe tradesmen last year the business premises in the town will be closed as from to-night (Thursday) and will not be ie-opened until Tuesday next. In addition to the arrival recently announced of the first consignment of poles as part of the equipment for the instalment of electrio light in Pukekohe the dynamo, insulators and meters have come to hand. The arrival of the wire cables is now awaited.
