PUNI.
PUNI PUBLIC HALL OFFICIAL OPENING. Puni residents celebrated the official opening of their new hall on Wednesday last by a ball, when there was a crowded company. Starting with the singing of the National Anthem the merry party soon commenced dancing to the strains of music supplied by the Patumahoe Orchestra. The M.O.'s (who found their duty not an easy one owing to the large company assembled) were Messrs H. Fulton, J. Black and E. Lucas, while Mr C. J. Geraghty acted as honorary secretary. During the evening Mr D. M. Heron sang two songs in his usual good style and was well received. Visitors were present from Pukekohe, Waiuku, and the surrounding districts. Favourable comments were made of the exce'lent state of the floor and of the provision made by the Committee for the enjoyment of all. Supper was provided and served by the ladies and was much appreciated. Altogether the function was a decided success.
