BUCKLAND.
SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. The Anniversary services of the Buckland Methodist Sunday School were held last Sunday but owing to the unfavourable weather the attendances were not so large as they otherwise would have been. The Rev. J. B. Suckling took the morning service and Mr Chris. Bycroft preached in the evening. Ofl Monday night the Anniversary social was held in the Church and was quite a success. The singing and behaviour of the children reflected great»redit on their teachers and was much appreciated by all present. Mr F. Souster occupied the chair and moved a vote of thanks to the superintendent, Mr G. Hill, and to the teachers for the able which they had carried out their duties during the year just closed The motion was carried by acclamation. The Rev. Suckling gave a short address and also two recitations. The following children took part in the programme, viz. : Musical items by Violet and Margery Civil, Doris. Avery, Myrtle Neal; recitations by Doris Avery. Jean and Grace Milroy, E. Rogers, Alice Murray, Naomi Hill, Jack Milroy, Allan Rogers, George Murray; and a trio by Misses Allan, Neal and Avery. Miss Allan acted as accompanist. Good progress has been made with the building of the Sunday School and vestry, which will make a very useful addition to the Church. An entertainment is to be held on Monday evening next in the Buckland Public Hall in aid of the Buckland Methodist Church Building Fund. Recitals will bo given by the Rev. J. B. Suckling and musical items will also be rendered.
