PUNI.
AN ENJOYABLE SOCIAL. A very enjoyable concert and dance were held in the Puni Hall on Friday of last week in aid of the Hall funds. Being favourei with a | fine night a good attendance was recorded. Mr Dazeley ably filled the position of chairman. The concert was opened by a pianoforte solo by Miss Iris Fulton and the other items were as follows, viz. : Song, " The Girls of Somerset," Miss Mary Pulman, (encore" " Where my Caravan has Rested recitation, " The Man from Iron Bark," Master Ned Costello; duet, " When the Boys Come Home," Misses Thelma and Sybil Parkinson ; song, " The Carnival," Mr Hemsworth ; recitation, Miss L. O'Connor ; song, " A Son of the Desert am I," Mr W. T. Jones; duet, " Life's Dream is O'er," Mr and Miss Hemsworth ; song, " Mama's Boy," Master Jim Sogers ; song, " Twilight," Miss Aldridge: song, "Little Grey Home in the West," Miss McSheen ; song, " Sunshino and Rain," Miss Chalmers ; duet, Mr W. T. Jones and Miss Aldridge. Eveiy item was warmly applauded and the concert was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem. While the hall was being cleared for dancing supper was handed round. The winners of the Waltzing Competition were Miss N. Stuart and Mr G. Smith. Mr Costello acted as judge. Dancing was indulged in till the early hours of the morning. Music was supplied by the Misses O'Connor, Mr and Miss Pulman and Mr Joe Roberts. Much credit is due to the managing committee who had the arrangements well in hand and helped to make the evening such a success. ———■
