The Onewhero contribution to the War Loan now amounts to £I7OO 2s mostly made up of certificates ; there were £350 only in bonds and 94 contributions. The wedding took place on March 14th, of Miss Violet Balme, daughter of Mrs Balme, and Mr A. Brown. The ceremony was performed at the residence of the bride's mother, the Rev. S. Nixon officiating. Mr H. Flay gave the bride away and the bridesmaid was Miss Eva Bilme. Mr George Cooper, of Razorback, has sold his farm to Mr R. Goode, a returned soldier, whom Bombayites will heartily welcome Owing to the war the annual reunion of the colonists who came out on the ship " Bombay," has been postponed this .year. March 18th was the anniversary of the landing. Two of the oldest residents in the Bombay district recently passed away at an advanced age within a week of one another—the Rev. George Wilks and the Rev. E. Shanahan, both Anglican clergymen. Mr E. J. Fahey, who has for some years been cream contractor between Bombay and Pukekohe, has been in very indifferent health for the last few weeks and will probably have to take an enforced rest. Owing to the transfer of Ministers and Lay Officials connected with the Methodist Church Mr A. J. Davis, who has been stationed at Bombay as Home Missionary, has been transferred to Awhitu where he is to take charge of the Methodist Church. At present his successor at Bombay has not been appointed.
