PUKEKOHE EAST.
WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC LEAGUE A meeting of the Pukekohe East branch of the Women's Patriotic League was held at the residence of Mrs Holmes on March Bth. Mrs Robinson, the President, reported having sent away to the main League a parcel containing the following goods, twelve pairs socks, two pairs pyjamas, four handkerchiefs and three children's garments. The Secretary reported having received acknowledgement of the receipt of £2, being £1 subscription to each of the General and Red Cross funds from the League. A parcel of books entitled " The Story of the Red Cross " was received from Auckland and these were distributed among the members present. During the afternoon Mrs Sager very pleasingly rendered some pianoforte solos which were much appreciated. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs Holmes and after accepting Mrs Sager's invitation to meet at her home on April sth the gathering dispersed.
