Those who remember the opening ot the Papakura Methodist Sunday School can scarcely credit the fact that the eighth anniversary ot its initiation was celebrated on Sunday last. Special hymns were rendered by the choir and children, who gave evidence ot much careful training. Mr G. The anniversary festival was continued on Monday id the form of a meeting, when there was again a good attendance.

A farewell function in the form of a social is to be held in the Parish Ball next Thursday evening, to do honour to Privates W. J. Carpenter, R. Johnston, J. Trail, and Pullen, who are home on final leave. The gathering is being organised by the local send-off Committee.
