PAPAKURA.
At the Auckland Police Court on Tuesday of last week two boys of fifteen, who had a little time back been before the Court at Papakura for damaging insulators and who had since broken into an office at Papakura and, later, hid got into a hut, and had stolen from the first place a pea-rifle, and from the second a bicycle saddle, came before Mr F. V. Frazer, B.M. It was stated that both boys, being just at the critical time when they had exceeded school age, had become somew hat difficult to control. The father of one of them had been absent from home for some weeks, and consequently his stronger control was removed at the time of the offence, while the other lad's father was dead. His Worship remarked that apparently, as the boys had hitherto been well-behaved, it was chiefly a matter of stricter supervision required. Both lads were formally committed to Weraroa Training Farm and allowed meantime to remain home under the supervision of the Probation Officer, while the parents had to pay 8s expenses.
