PAPAKURA.

Corporal Walker, of the Auckland Mounted Section of the 20th Reinforcements, was in Papakura last week on leave. He served with the 72 nd Imperial Yeomanry Rough Riders in South Africa during the Boer War and holds the King's and Queen's medals for the campaign. When in the district recently inspecting several sections with a view of acquiring them for the Railway Department, Mr A. Duncan, Traffic Manager, remarked on the rapid growth of the district and said that in time a better railway service to Papakura would have to be provided, but the whole matter hinged on the matter of money.
