TE HIRUA.

On Wednesday afternoon a Red Cross Tea was Riven at Te Birua hall. By tbe invitation of Mrs Dawes, Urs Hudson Williamson, who is a member of tbe Victoria League, addressed the iadrs p'esent and all were very interested :n her inspiring words. A very dainty tea was enjoyed and Mrs Bark sang " The Swallows" and "I'be Gleaner's Slumber Song," both of which were much appreciated. Tbe sum of £6 13s wvs collected towards Jtfce funds tor tbis deserving work. *A hearty vute ot thanks to the lecturer was given and the ladies, who organised tbe afternoon, deserve tbe thanks and cjngratulations of the whole district for their success.
