ONEWHERO.
A very hearty farewell was given to Corporal Konald Crawford on Thursday last 8t tbe Public Hall. A large crowd assembled from tbe immediate district and from Tuakau and Pukekawa, testifying to the "boy's" popularity. Tbe chairman was Councillor I). Moore and "Konali" was accompanied on the platform by bis father and Mr N. Cole-Baker. A splendid concert was submitted, songs being rendered by Miss Garland, Miss Hunter and Mrs Bark and Messrs Pirret, Vus, Pater son, Drak', York, Pareors, Bark; a duet by Miss Hu.iter ard Mr Paterson; and recitations by Miss Paton, and Mr K. Glasgow. Mrs Alexandfr. Mrs Hunter and Mrs Bark officiated at the piano. Speeches were given by Mr Moore and Mr D. Fulton, while Mr N. Cole-Baker read a most interesting letter describing the daily routine and excitemsnt id the trenches in France. Mr Crawford and the Corporal both responded, (be singing of the National Anthem and supper concluded tbe first part of the programme, and a lance loilowed, the music being provide! by Mms Geraghty and friends.
