PROFESSOR NECKELSON.
A Skilled Magician. Professor Neckelson, the French magician, who is to appear at the Premier Hall, Pukekohe, on Saturday, July Bth, ha? a remarkable personality. He i 9 ot the healthy, robust type of Frenchman which is now perforimng wondots in the battle-line, and has the polished manner and address of a cultured Parisian. He was born at Keims, in France, and served with the Army for two years, until at Verdun he met with a bad accident to one of his legs, and a troublesome knee kept him in a hospital lor six month?, and ended his career with the army. He is one of a family of eight bovs, of whom six are now lighting for France, one having recently been shot through the neck, and he is immensely proud of the French Army's B,'ihevcments against their arch encriy. With great passion be said "yeßtciday: "If not for my knee I would go iight--give my life —oh, yes, willingly!'' He does not speak English faultlessly, and therefore dispenses with all speech during his act, but in France or Spain or Portugal he is able to "patter" freely, and fii7es an allnight entertainment by himself. In IIJI3l I JI3 he was in PariE, and there gava many entertainments, and after a perfnrmanca in the Salon Quai d'Orsay, the most exclusive drawing room in the Chamber of Deputies, he was presented with a handsome bronze medallion by President Lalatide. Afterwards he sat out on a tour of the world, visiting Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, America. South Arfica, fndiH, Burma, China, Japan, and Australia (where he appeared under the management of Mr Hugh D. M'lntosh\ He has a gold-mounted malacca cane, presented to him by the Emperor of .lava, and many interesting eouvenirs from the various countries he has visited. The prices of admission are 3s and 2s, and reserved seats may be secured at the Bookery.
