BOMBAY.
A crowded gathering assembled in the Bombay Methodist Church on Tuesday evening last on the occasion of a concert given to mark the reopening of the church on the conclusion of the work of the installation of an acetylene gas plant. Thanks to the liberality of Mr E. McCowen, who generously donated the generator, the cost of fittings and pipes alone had to be borne by the Church Funds and at a meeting of the Trustees, held subsequent to the concert, the welcome announcement M'as made that the proceeds therefrom more than met the required amount. The vocalists included a quartette party from Tuakau, consisting of the Misses Hunter and 8011, Rev. A. M. Costain and Mr Gvimshaw, with Mrs Hunter as accompanist. Mrs George, a visitor from Auckland also kindly contributed songs and local talent completed the programme, the M iss McCowen 2J acting as accompanists. The Rev. G. Frost most ably presided over the proceedings.
