HUNUA.
At a shooting competition held on 11 tli March, at Papakura, by the 70th Company Auckland Senior Cadets, the Hunua lads carried off the following prizes out of a total of 19, viz 2nd prize, gold medal, Cadet H. McConnel; 3rd, gold medal, Cadet W. Mathieson ; -Ith, gold medal, Cadet H. Mathieson; Gth, nickel watch, Corporal S. Wilson ; 7th, nickel Sergeant F. j 10th, silver medal, Cadet Gh Ferguson; 14tb, silver medal, Cadet E. Trail. Mr J. Forrest, creamery manager, who has been accepted for military service at the frout, has been instructed to proceed to Trentham on April 4 th. The Ladies' Guild, which has been working energetically for tbe past six months, has decided to hold its sale of work in the Public Hallion April 12th. The church should benefit substantially by the sale. No case of infantile paralysis has occurred throughout the district, and Hunua has thus sustained its reputation for immunity from epidemics.
