A REMARKABLE FIND However diligent in gardening householders may be they are seldom rewarded in the fashion as was Mr E S Cole on Wednesday last. He was digging on a part ot his garden which had hitherto been neglected, and which was part of the Bite on which the Papakura Hotel stood at a time prior to the Maori War, and in one turn of the spade hi unearthej an number of silver coins which date between the years 1834 and 1844. With the exception ot a slight discolouration the coins are not the worse for wear, and in fact appear to be almost new. This is not the first find of a similar nature that has been made near the same site, and old residents affirm that precious stones were at one time found

A BEACH TRACK The necessity tor a (rack from Chalky«puint to the bead ot the Bay has been spoken of, and the formation of a working-bee is practically certain providing the Tosn Board will assist. At present there are no means whereby women and children can traverse this beach front, and the project would certainly add to the attractiveness cf the Papakura waterfront

Tenders will be called within the next few days for the new buildings on the sections rest to the Globe Hotel. The drawing up of plans and specifications have been entrusted to Mr J Parks ot Ouehunga. The work of decorating the hotel has already commenced, the tender of Messrs Adams Bros., Onehuoga, having been accepted for the work
