TUAKAU.

Through the kindness of Mr George Kevell in placing bis section on Harriaville road at the disposal of the pupils attending the Methodist Sunday School the annual Sunday School picnic was held on Wednesday last and a most enjoyable outing was experienced by the children and their parents, despite the threatening nature of the atmospheric conditions. The sources of amuEement consisted of swings, merry-go-rounds and games, which were entered into by the older people with the same zeal and earnestness that characterised the children's actions. The Sunday School teachers and their friends were most considerate to the children, a desire to create amusement being their sole object. 'lheir efforts were very much appreciated by both the parents and children. When afternoon tea was announced many tired little feet scampered over the ground to have their healthy appetites appeased with choice edibles. Those who assisted in the control of the days' events were Mesdanr.s C Bycroft and F Hyde and Messrs C Bycroft, (superintendent, F Brown, J Grant and the Kev (Jostain. The distribution of prizes to the children will be made at the anniversary celebrations of the Sunday School, to be held during first week in March A continuous exodus of stock from Tuakau and surrounding districts is making the Tuakau railway station one of the most important n the Waikato.
