ALFRISTON & BROOKBY.
The Altriaton Tennis Club opened its season on Saturday last, when, although the weather was unfavourable, a large number of residents assembled on the Jouris. Visitors were present from Papakura.
A bazaar is to be held in Alfriston next month in aid of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, and it is anticipated a good sum will be realised. The ladies are working arsiduously towards making the bazaar a great success. A social in aid of a stall in the bazaar will be held on friday, October 22nd, in the Papakura Valley Hall. It is worthy of note that the proceeds from the bazaar are to go to the general Wounded Soliders Fund. As compared with the supply of milk last year, the local creamery is dealing wi.h a largo increase. Tha abundance of teed, resultant upon an eatly spring, and a i.umbcr of new suppliers from Whitiord, aro responsible for the increase.
