PUKEKOHE NATIONAL RESERVE.
Memorial Service. A memorial service, for fallen heroes from the Franklin County, was held, under arrangements made by the Pukekohe National Reserve, in the Premier Hall yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, the congregation numbering about 200. Rain had fallen during the greater part ot the morning, but the weather fortunately cleared up temporarily in tim 3 for the Eervice.
The Reserve (with Captain Rollinson in command), the Fire Brigade (under Captain Woods), the Boy Stouts (under Scout-Master MauArthur) and the Girl Scouts (under Miss Williams) were well represented. They marched from the top ot King Street to the Hall, where the service was cundutted by the Rev. F. B. Dobson (Anglican), Rev. G. Frost (Methodist) and Rev. S. Nixcn (Fresbtyerian. the combined choirs assisting. The first item in the order of service was tha singing of the National Anthem. A prayer and Scripture reading by the Rev. Frost followed. Addresses were given by the Rev. Dob3on ("A tribute in memory of thosa who have fallen in battle") and by the Rev. £?. Nixon. Hymns were rendered by the combined choir, Misa Penman accompanying on the piano. The Dead March in Saul was played by the Pukekohe Town Band on the conclusion of the service, followeJ by the Last Post being sounded on the bugle by Bandmaster Brunnctte.
The Rev. Frost apoloigscd for the absence of the Rev. Father Molloy, and thinkcd all thoße who had participated in the ceremony, particularly Mr J. J. Coady for allowing the hall to be used free of charge.
A collection taken up in aid of the Wounded Suldiers' Fund realised £9 4j Gd.
