THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY.
A Record Output Predicted
Although not yet in its flush an idea of tha prospects of the dairying industry as it affects the Pukekohe district can be gauged by the amount of cream now beirg received at the New Zealand Dairy Association's local factory. The Pukekohe factory is not yet relieved of the whole of its Waiuku supply by the new factory ther?, but the latter is expected to be in full operation vvithi i a week or so.
The cream received at Pukekohe this season, as stated in a previous issue, far exceeds the amount received during the corresponding period of the previous year, and easily constitutes a record for the Company. On Tuesday of last week, fourteen tons of butter were manufactured, and the whole of this was graded 93 out of 100, showing that the quality also was exceptionally good for the early part of the season, when the irregular delivery of milk and cream is not conducive to producing the best butter. The mildness ot the season is indicated by the increase in the individual farmer's Bupply, but generally the increase is due to intense cultivation and cow-testing. If the present prospects of supply and values continue, the season will he a record one for larmers.
